When using templates provided by web hosting companies, you may
choose colors, themes, page type (like photo album, newsletter, brochure...),
and maybe whether or not to add sound or extras provided by the web host.
Each company's methods for creation of web pages is different.Tips to make the
process go smoothly:
- Tour web hosting site and features
- "Help" or "FAQ" (frequently
asked questions) sections available?
- Read directions carefully before you begin template
- Use SAVE buttons if provided
- Use Finish and Done when provided
- Use Preview, Prev. and Next buttons on the work area (not
the browser)
- Keep image file sizes small (20k or less)
- WRITE DOWN your USERNAME AND PASSWORD for your registered
web space
- Define your web page(s) purpose & stick to it!
- Be willing to do a practice page that you can delete
- Organize related material in "chunks" and use short
paragraphs
- Be concise
- Contact info vital for promotional web sites
- Page Names CANNOT have spaces (Ex: mypage.html)
- Note the WHOLE web page address of your creation
